Dog-Friendly Vacations in Charleston
Vacation just isn’t the same without your furry friends. Luckily, Charleston is known for being a very dog-friendly city, and we’re here to provide the perfect guide for exploring downtown with your dog!
Enjoy the Outdoors
The Battery and White Point Gardens
This park is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Located in the historic district of Charleston, it features stunning views of the Ashley and Cooper Rivers. There are plenty of park benches available to relax and enjoy the views, but, we recommend grabbing a blanket and stretching out on the lush green grass under the large shady oak trees.
Waterfront Park
Looking for the perfect place for a picnic with your pup? Waterfront Park has swings, fountains, and a beautiful view of the Ravenel Bridge, making it a wonderful spot to settle down and eat a bite. There is also a dog park nearby if your furry friend needs to socialize and get their energy out.
Hit the Beach
Take your four-legged friends to one of Charleston’s beaches to frolic in the waves and dig in the sand. Sullivan’s Island, Folly Beach, and Sullivan’s Island are our favorite beaches. Click here to see the rules for each beach.
Go on a Tour

Dogs are welcome to come on their carriage tours; guests bringing their dog will need to purchase an entire row for themselves (4 Seats).
