Summer in Charleston has myriad things to see and do—you’ll never run out of new experiences. Events, festivals, and of course—days at the beach await!



When: First Friday of the month except July and January

Where: Downtown Charleston

Immerse yourself in local art at more than 30 galleries during the Charleston Gallery Association’s Artwalk. Taking place on the first Friday of most months, the Artwalk is a fantastic way to meet new people, discover local artists, and find the perfect art piece for your home. Participants have the ability to create their own Artwalk route using the CGA website’s “Charleston Gallery Association Map.” There is no cost of admission to this event.


Charleston Farmers Market

When: Saturdays, April 6-November 23, 2024

Where: Marion Square-329 Meeting Street

You will find a variety of local produce, plants, herbs, and cut flowers, as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live entertainment, and an assortment of juried arts and crafts from local artisans every Saturday at the Market.

When: Every month on the second Sunday from 12-5 pm

Where: King Street from Queen to Calhoun Street

Enjoy exploring Kings Street without traffic! You will find carefully curated artists showing their work on the street, unique food vendors, and other surprises! Enjoy discovering shops you might not have noticed before!

Weekend Wine Down

When: Every Saturday | 10 am-5 pm

Where: Deep Water Vineyard

Prepare to unwind rain or shine with your friends at Deep Water Vineyards at their weekly Wine-Downs! Sample wines ($15 to taste 6), sip unique drinks (wine slushies, meads, mimosas, and bloody marys!), and enjoy live music and delicious food trucks. Relax on the patio with games (cornhole, swurfer/swing) or explore the farm ((rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and a miniature brahma cow!). Leashed dogs & well-behaved kids welcome. North Charleston Arts Fest

When: May 1-5, 2024

Where: Various locations in Charleston

The North Charleston Arts Fest explodes with five days of free festivities. Immerse yourself in a diverse array of performances, exhibitions, and activities.  Sway to live music, be captivated by theatrical productions, or marvel at stunning visual arts. The festival brings art to life in a variety of spaces, from libraries and businesses to community centers and parks.  With children’s programs, demonstrations, and more, there’s truly something for everyone to experience the joy of creativity. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate art in all its forms!

Cheers on the Pier

When: May 9 & 16, 2024 | 5:30-7:30 pm

Where: Mount Pleasant Pier, 71 Harry Hallman Blvd., Mount Pleasant

Wrap up your workday on the Mount Pleasant Pier with live music, craft beer, good friends, and a gorgeous sunset.

No admission fee. Blankets and chairs are welcome, as seating is limited. Outside alcohol and coolers are prohibited. Craft beer, made-to-order sandwiches, ice cream, fruit smoothies, and more will be for sale in the River Watch Café and Gift Shop.

53rd Annual Charleston Greek Festival

When: May 10-12, 2024

Where: Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity

Spoleto Festival USA

Sand Sculpting Contest

When: Saturday, June 1, 2024 | 9:00 a.m.

Calling all sand sculpting enthusiasts! The 34th Annual Piccolo Spoleto Sand Sculpting Competition kicks off on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at 9 am on the Isle of Palms’ Front Beach. This free event welcomes everyone to compete in solo or team categories (children, young adults, families, adults). Show off your creativity, win prizes, and be part of the fun! Marion Square Jam

Calling all music lovers and farmers market enthusiasts!  Awendaw Green and the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs are teaming up to present the Marion Square Jam, a vibrant celebration of local music. Marion Square transforms into a lively stage for a “Barn Jam” style showcase, featuring six of Charleston’s favorite artists each day.  These captivating 45-minute sets will allow you to discover a diverse range of musical styles that embody the city’s rich creative spirit. Wine on the Piazza

4th of July at Patriots Point

Charleston Caribbean Jerk Festival

When: Saturday, July 20, 2024

Where: Riverfront Park in North Charleston

Eat, drink, and celebrate Caribbean culture at the 9th Annual Charleston Caribbean Jerk Festival! This one-day festival highlights the best in both Caribbean food and music. Festival goers will get to enjoy Caribbean vendors from across the Southeast as the top chefs look to claim the title of Top Jerk Chef 2024!

Sam Hunt Concert

When: July 26, 2024

Where: Credit One Stadium

Sam Hunt is bringing his “Locked Up Tour” to Credit One Stadium on July 26th!  Joined by special guests Russell Dickerson and George Birge, this promises to be an epic night under the Charleston stars. Visit the Credit One Stadium website for official ticket vendors and ticket pricing.


RiverDogs Minor League Baseball

Where: Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park

Get the family together, head on over to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, and enjoy Charleston’s very own Minor League Baseball team!
